Readability Analysis Tool
Not everyone reads as well as what you can, so it’s good to have a tool like the one below which quickly shows if you’ve writ something too complicated, like an’ all.
To find out how you’re doing, paste up to 5,000 words into the window below and hit the button (note: larger samples give better results). You’ll be given SEVEN numbers which correspond to seven commonly-used readability scores. You can edit the text in the box and reload to try to improve your score.
Be aware that because the readability analyser (or readability analyzer if you're American, Canadian or stick by the Oxford English Dictionary) use different methods and metrics, the results often appear contradictory. That’s statistics for you. The final decision on just how readable your prose is must be yours.
