Why Does Content Need Its Own Website?

When I started building websites for friends, I used to say (come to think of it, I still do), it’s not the website that’s the problem, it’s what goes into it. Indeed, I’m usually really happy to hand over the finished product and say: “Now fill ‘er up”!

Content, at least on the surface, seems easy, peasy. After all, it’s only words: known by some as talk! And talk, as the great sage Keith Richards once observed, is cheap. Well, now I can dispute Keith’s assumption: talk — quality talk, that is — is not cheap, especially when you need lots of it to fill up your website.

The secret of being a bore is to tell everything.

My mission, which I have chosen to accept, is to give everyone (who cares) the benefit of my experience so that they don’t need to spend 20 years finding out the hard way how to give your readers/visitors something interesting to do when they visit your website.
